Description: Groundwater modeling was used to simulate the effects of sea-level rise on groundwater levels in the New Hampshire Seacoast. The MODFLOW-USG Transport model (Panday, 2022) was used to simulate groundwater flow and saltwater intrusion in these communities. This map shows vulnerable areas where the groundwater depth is currently less than 10 ft. The colors show the projected magnitude of groundwater rise under 6 ft of sea-level rise. Subsurface infrastructure assets, including utilities, are the most vulnerable to rising groundwater from sea-level rise and heavy rainfall events in these areas.
